within the battery packs of new energy vehicles and inside the
high-vacuum chambers of semiconductor wafers, a seemingly inconspicuous
material is playing a crucial role. It is Fluorosilicone Rubber (FSR),
hailed as the "King of Specialty Rubbers." With the commencement of the
"15th Five-Year Plan," high-end fluorosilicone materials have leaped
from traditional industrial auxiliaries to become key "chokehold"
materials supporting strategic emerging industries such as new energy,

we compare the battery of a new energy vehicle to a heart, then
fluorosilicone rubber seals are the 'bulletproof vests' protecting the
heart from external erosion," an industry veteran metaphorically
explained. In the new energy vehicle sector, the cooling liquids in
battery thermal management systems are often highly permeable and
corrosive. Ordinary rubber rapidly swells when exposed to these
fluorinated coolants, leading to seal failure and even battery thermal
runaway. FSR,凭借其 "shielding effect" of fluorine atoms in its molecular
chain, possesses strong resistance to various oils, solvents, acids, and
alkalis, while maintaining elasticity under extreme temperature
differences from -60°C to 230°C, making it the "stabilizing pillar" of
battery thermal management systems.
In
the semiconductor manufacturing field, fluorosilicone rubber also plays
the role of a "cleanliness guardian." The chip manufacturing process
requires high-purity chemical reagents and specialty gases; any trace
amount of impurity leaching can result in the scrapping of an entire
batch of wafers. High-end FSR not only boasts extremely high chemical
purity but also maintains ultra-low outgassing rates under harsh
processes like plasma etching, preventing contamination of delicate chip
circuits.
According
to the latest industry data, the global demand for fluorosilicone
rubber is growing at an annual rate of 15% in 2026, with the new energy
and semiconductor sectors accounting for over 40%. With breakthroughs in
domestic material technology, China is gradually breaking foreign
monopolies and building a complete industrial chain from upstream
monomer synthesis to downstream high-end products, injecting strong
momentum into the high-quality development of the manufacturing sector.
