What is fluorosilicone rubber?

Hits: 906 img

Fluorosilicone elastomer is used as the base rubber, combined with various fillers, and evenly mixed rubber is added.
Fluorosilicone compound rubber combines the properties of silicone rubber and fluororubber:

1. Wide application range (-60~200℃);

2. It has solvent resistance and oil resistance similar to fluorine rubber;

3. Retain the advantages of high tensile retention rate of silicone rubber at high temperatures;

4. Good insulation performance;

5. Low air permeability, in line with environmental protection requirements. Therefore it is used for sealing that is resistant to high and low temperatures, oil and media.

Compared with methyl vinyl silicone rubber, the biggest advantage of fluorosilicone rubber is oil resistance, solvent resistance, and chemical resistance; compared with fluorine rubber, although there is little difference in resistance to alkane solvents, resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons The solvent properties are better than those of fluororubber. Its good solvents are only ketones with high polarity and small molecules, and its oil resistance and solvent resistance are also good. After being immersed in the same medium, time and temperature, it shows excellent durability. Fluorosilicone rubber has better heat resistance, cold resistance, and compression set, and its physical properties are less dependent on temperature, showing excellent performance from low to high temperatures. Secondly, products with low hardness can be produced even without the use of plasticizers. Therefore, fluorosilicone rubber is being widely used as a new high-performance elastomer material.
