Fluorosilicone rubber, as a high-performance specialty rubber material, is demonstrating significant application value in aerospace, automotive manufacturing and other fields due to its exceptional performance in extreme environments. By introducing fluorocarbon groups into the polysiloxane backbone, this material successfully combines the temperature resistance of silicone rubber with the medium resistance of fluoroelastomer, maintaining excellent performance within a wide temperature range of -60℃ to 200℃.
Research data shows that the volume change rate of fluorosilicone rubber in harsh media such as fuel and lubricating oil can be controlled within 10%. It achieves tensile strength of 8-12 MPa and maintains excellent tear strength levels of 30-45 kN/m. After 168 hours of aging tests at 200℃, the material retains over 85% of its original mechanical properties.
In the aerospace sector, fluorosilicone rubber has become a critical material for aircraft fuel system seals and engine bay cable sheaths. Practical applications demonstrate that its service life can be more than three times longer than conventional rubbers. In the new energy vehicle field, the material is also increasingly used in key components such as battery package sealing and motor insulation protection.
Industry experts indicate that with continuous optimization of manufacturing processes, fluorosilicone rubber will play an important role in more high-end manufacturing sectors, providing crucial material support for the innovative development of equipment manufacturing industry.
